Logistikzentrum mit Hilfsguetern vom Deutschen Roten Kreuz (DRK) am Flughafen Berlin-Schoenefeld (Foto vom 20.03.2026). Fast 30 Tonnen Hilfsgueter auf mehr als 80 Paletten werden fuer die vom Krieg betroffenen Menschen im Libanon verladen. In Absprache mit dem Libanesischen Roten Kreuz (LRK) kann das DRK nun bedarfsgerechte Hilfsgueter auf den Weg bringen. Die Lieferung besteht aus Zelten, Planen, Decken, Kuechensets zum Kochen, Hygienesets, die u.a. Waschpulver, Seife und Zahnpasta umfassen. Der Flug geht direkt in die am schwersten betroffene Region Cebu. An Bord werden insgesamt rund 70 Tonnen Fracht sein. Das DRK liefert Zelte, Kochsets, Hygieneartikel und Plastikplanen. Vom THW werden zwei Trinkwasseraufbereitungsanlagen, ein Labor zur Wasseranalyse, Werkzeug zur Reparatur zerstörter Infrastruktur sowie Camp-Ausstattung für Einsatzkräfte zugeladen.$

Mehrere hundert rot gekleidete Mitarbeiter des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes formten am 13.01.2013, zum Auftakt des Jubiläumsjahres, vor dem Brandenburger Tor in Berlin ein riesiges Rotes Kreuz. Die Geburtsstunde des Roten Kreuzes schlug 1859 auf einem Schlachtfeld im italienischen Solferino. Österreicher auf der einen Seite und Italiener sowie Franzosen auf der anderen Seite lieferten sich hier einen erbitterten Kampf. Am Abend bedeckten 40.000 Tote und Verwundete die blutgetränkte Erde. Ein junger Mann aus Genf, Henri Dunant, wurde Zeuge des Grauens; er betreute die Opfer, so gut er konnte. Dunant wollte dauerhaft helfen. Mit vier Gleichgesinnten gründete er die Genfer Gesellschaft für öffentliche Wohlfahrt. Man traf sich zum ersten Mal vor genau 150 Jahren - am 17. Februar 1863.
