Europe s tallest Virgin Mary statue to open on August Photo: Wojciech Olkusnik East News, Construction of a 55-meter statue of the Virgin Mary in Konotopie (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland) is nearing completion, 18th July 2026. The project is being financed by billionaire Roman Karkosik, and the design was created by sculptor Adam Jakub Matejkowski. The monument will be taller than the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro (38.5 meters) and the Christ the King statue in Swiebodzin. The unveiling of the statue is scheduled for August 15, on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. EN_01680773_0068
